Skin is the biggest organ of our human body which coats the entire outer part of our body, and it is made up of water, fats, protein and minerals. Our skin is formed in 3 layers, such as Epidermis (top layer), Dermis (mid layer), and Hypodermis (the bottom or fatty layer). Not everyone’s skin type and texture is the same, there are multiple skin types.

What is the skin care profile test?

The skin care profile is a set of blood tests which will help you in detecting any kind of ski9n disease including allergies and even skin cancer. These tests measure the amount of immunoglobulin E (IgE) in your blood.

Blood testing to identify your allergies is very common, the thyrocare skin care profile consists of 32 to 39 tests which will help to find out the underlying cause of your skin disease.

When should you go for the thyrocare skin care profile?

Skin disorder symptoms vary from person to person, and it also depends on the type of allergy you have. They can be very mild like sneezing and can also be very severe like anaphylactic shock. Certain symptoms may appear due to common causes that will ease away naturally. However, if you are having severe allergies without any possible reason, it may indicate a skin disease which will need a proper treatment.

A skin disease symptoms may include:

What preparations do you need?

What would happen in this test?

A phlebotomist (laboratory expert) will draw a small sample of blood through a vein in your arm. He or she will use a small thin needle for this purpose. You may feel slight pain during the blood drawing time, and might also have bruising in that particular area. But the pain and bruise will go away in a day or two.

What would be the result interpretation?

All of the reference ranges of the tested levels will be mentioned in the test report for your understanding. However, it is recommended to talk with your doctor about the proper explanation of your test result.
